    We show only plans offered at your address, from licensed retail electric providers.

  2. Compare at your use

    Pick your monthly kWh and we rank plans by what you'd really pay, fees included.

  3. Choose and enroll

    Add your address, details and a start date. It takes about 5 minutes.

  4. We remind you before it ends

    We let you know [REMINDER DAYS] days before your contract ends, so you can compare again.

What stays the same

  • Your local utility still delivers your power over the same lines.
  • Your meter stays the same.
  • You call the utility for outages, just like today.

What changes

  • The company you buy electricity from, and its price.
  • Who sends your bill. That's your new provider.
  • Your contract terms: length, fees and renewal.

In plain English

The words on an electricity plan

You'll see these on every plan and every Electricity Facts Label.

kWh (kilowatt-hour)
The unit you're billed in. Most homes use somewhere between 500 and 2,000 kWh a month. Your bill shows yours.
Price per kWh
The average price at a set monthly use, including delivery charges. It changes with your use, so we show it at 500, 1,000 and 2,000 kWh.
Fixed rate
Your energy price stays the same for the whole contract. Delivery charges from the utility can still change.
Variable rate
The price can change month to month. Usually no contract and no cancellation fee.
Base charge
A flat monthly fee, whatever you use.
Usage credit
A discount that only applies in a set usage range. Outside that range, the plan can cost a lot more.
Early cancellation fee
What you pay if you leave a fixed-rate contract early. Moving out is usually exempt.
